Absentee/Makeup Work

|
Being in attendance is of major importance in high school. If you are not here you are not learning, missing essential information, and will quickly fall behind on classwork. And as I always say, "Miss school, miss fun!"
If you are absent, it is your responsibility to talk with me about what you missed while away. I will not seek you out to make sure you are caught up to speed. If you are absent the day that a project or homework is due you must turn it in the day you return to school. If you miss a test and your absence is excused, you will take the test the day you return. If your absence is unexcused, you will receive a zero for the test. Late Work
Being punctual is important in all that we do. As students, turning in work on time ensures you are learning. If however, you need to turn in an assignment late, you may do so up until the test is given with 75% credit given.
Grading Policy
Your grade will come from tests, projects, papers, quizzes, homework, and class participation. There may be one major research project per semester, and each will carry roughly the weight of one test.
PowerSchool will be updated no less than once a week. Students will be given 12-15 grades per quarter with 3-5 of those being assessments. 70% of the the overall grade will be made up of assignments, projects, homework, etc., while 30% will be made up of quizzes and tests. A 100-94% B- 82-80% D+ 69-67% A- 93-90% C+ 79-77% D 66-63% B+ 89-87% C 76-73% D- 62-60% B 86-83% C- 72-70% F 59% and below Technology
Technology will play a major role in our classroom experience and learning. Students will utilize computers in the classroom on a regular basis and the majority of our lessons and/or projects will involve the internet and Google. We will be blogging, taking virtual field trips, researching, and collaborating together.

Communicating with Me
I do my best to make sure I am available to students. I arrive at school at approximately 7:30 AM and am available for a period of time at the end of the school day. If you need to ask me a question or want a bit of extra help you can find me in my classroom during these times. You may also contact me by email at [email protected]. I will do my best to be prompt in responding to your emails.
Plagiarism
Plagiarism, in plain terms, is cheating. Students who plagiarize from another's work, copy and paste, or do not cite information will face the consequences of cheating as outlined in the Student Handbook. Plagiarism will not be tolerated. I want to know your thoughts and what you have learned.
